Thank you for writing this article, although I will say that it is not unique to Sri Lankan software -- it is the bane of the whole industry right now. Just take machine learning for example -- if you try to learn about any given topic in data science, you'll be flooded with articles from so-called experts on how to do something using python libraries but only 1 in 100 will actually explain the foundational ideas behind the topic. Cargo cult is right.
